So you want to get fit? Congratulations!
You’ve just made one of the best decisions in your life!
But wait – even though your decision is great, you still have to pass many obstacles on your way.
Sweating and puffing are just parts of the equation.
You see, before you even step foot in the gym, you need to make sure you’re not following some harmful trends and baseless advice.
This means you should do your own research, and decide for yourself which fitness program is the best for you according to your goals.
But let’s talk about some common fitness myths first.
If you believe any of them, it could seriously hinder your progress.
Or even worse, it could prevent you from getting any results whatsoever by causing an injury.
So here are the top 3 fitness myths you should stop taking seriously.
- You need cardio for weight loss
If you enjoy cardio, more power to you.
Running, cycling, and those kinds of exercises can help you lose weight faster.
But are they necessary?
Not at all!
The only thing that matters when it comes to weight loss is calorie deficit.
If you eat fewer calories than you spend, you’re going to lose weight no matter what you’re doing.
Imagine losing weight by simply walking or working in the garden!
As long as you keep your calorie intake low, you’re going to be good.
- You shouldn’t eat past 6 PM
This is a a half-truth.
While it’s true that you shouldn’t eat right before bed, it doesn’t mean you should stop eating at 6 PM.
There’s no scientific evidence that your body processes food any differently at night than during the dat.
The chemical processes are the same as they are during the day.
- Spot reduction works
This myth has been debunked a million times before, but some people still believe it's true.
Your body can’t selectively burn fat from certain areas.
You can’t burn it from your hips, or your stomach.
You can only burn fat in a general sense; this leads to fat loss all over the body.
And there’s no magic workout that could target, for example, belly fat.
---
Hopefully, you’ve learned something new about fitness.
If you’re starting out, you’re going to have a great advantage over others because you understand the truth behind these common myths.
Now the only thing you need is to put in the effort.
Start small, be consistent, and you’ll eventually achieve the results you’re looking for.
Stay fit my friend,
