When you look at bodybuilders and fitness influencers, you might think they’re the epitome of strength.
They’re muscular, pumped, lean, and their muscles are well defined.
However, the pictures you see on social media don’t tell you the whole story about their physical fitness.
Why?
Because none of them (at least none of the natural lifters) are shredded the entire year.
Besides that, the best-looking physique doesn’t guarantee strength.
In fact, it’s more likely that bodybuilders are weaker during competitions than during the off-season.
You see, being shredded is not easy at all.
If you want to drop the body fat percentage below 8% (professional bodybuilders are going much lower than that), you'll have to spend months in a calorie deficit.
This means your metabolism will slow down, your immune system will get weaker, and your libido will go down the drain.
Most importantly, you won’t be as strong as you should be.
This is why natural bodybuilders are not shredded all year round – it's not sustainable.
So keep that in mind the next time you see the perfect physique of a competition-ready bodybuilder!
If you want to have a decent physique, you don’t have to go the extremes.
For most people, the ideal body fat percentage is somewhere between 10% and 15%.
This is where you obtain defined muscles without negative side effects.
Besides that, your strength and endurance will increase as well as your sex drive.
And you’ll have a lot more freedom when it comes to nutrition.
You’ll get to have cheat days!
In short, you’ll be able to enjoy life while looking better than the average person.
On the other hand, if you’re set on being shredded, don’t be discouraged.
Just make sure you’re willing to sacrifice a lot to get there.
