Monday MythBuster #23: Quantity vs. Quality

Welcome to another episode of MythBuster Mondays!

Hope your May is off to a great start. You know...

there's an important quote that I heard during my brief stint in the advertising business. It goes as follows:

"Most people don't do things the right way. They do things how they THINK is the right way."

You can go to any public gym in America and see this quote in full effect!

Now, I'm not here to speak ill about people who probably doesn't know any better.

The real issue at hand is our "hustle & grind" culture.

In today's age, being able to say we "finished" is more important than doing things right.

And so proper technique is becoming a lost art.

What you see in the gym is people judging their performance by how many reps they've completed.

Instead of how many reps they've done correctly.

Not only does this hurt your gains. But it can trick you into thinking you're further than you really are.

The reason I'm stressing this is because fitness is a long game.

And in a long game, you want to make sure you're doing things right from the beginning.

Because there's nothing worse than figuring out that you spent 6 months - 1 year, doing things incorrectly. (Trust me I know from experience.)

Doing things right the first time will get you better and faster results.

As a rule of thumb, concentrate on a flash burst rep for the contraction, and three seconds for the release back to the original starting point for a given exercise.

Your future physique will thank you :)

Stay fit my friend,
