Hummus really doesn't get the respect that it should when it comes to being a superfood. It's high in protein, fights inflammation, and provides good bacteria to your gut.
So if you're looking for a healthy snack as you binge your favorite show, try out this homemade hummus which will take you less than 10 minutes.
Ingredients:
- ½ tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1½ cups chickpeas (cooked)
- ⅓ cup tahini
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 clove of garlic
- 6 tbsp water
- Veggies/pita bread (for serving)
- Spices; red pepper flakes, paprika, parsley for garnish
Step 1: Blending
Add the chickpeas, salt, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt to a blender. Blend to make it smooth by adding water as much as you need to reach desired consistency.
Step 2: Serving
Transfer to a bowl and serve with bread, chips, and/or and veggies.
